Dentures Can Replace Lost and Compromised Teeth

As you age things like severe tooth decay and advanced gum disease can cause you to lose several teeth or could compromise existing teeth in your mouth. This can have a serious negative impact on ability to chew food, obscure your speech and limit your quality of life.

If a great deal of teeth have been lost or compromised Dr. Christina Sehy VerSchave might recommend having the compromised teeth extracted before fitting you for a set of dentures. You might only need to have your upper or lower teeth replaced with dentures. This can effectively restore the full function and appearance of your mouth while improving your overall quality of life.

Dentures, sometimes called false teeth, are a removable set of artificial teeth that are set into a material that mimics the appearance of your natural gums.

Once the needed extractions are completed Dr. Christina Sehy VerSchave will take an impression of your mouth. This will be sent to a dental lab that will craft your new custom permanent dentures.

Many people with dentures like to use denture adhesive to secure them in place. The denture adhesive also helps to block food particles from getting between the base of the dentures and your gums.

If you have several compromised teeth or you thinking about being fitted dentures, please feel free to call Dr. Christina Sehy VerSchave at 303-935-3574 to schedule an appointment.
